Storytelling

Installation

Our 25 audio stories for young people have had over 3,500 listens as part of our Super Paua Stories podcast. This installation transforms those stories into a live audio experience.

During Covid lockdowns, we created four series of multilingual audio stories for young people, released as podcast Super Paua Stories. Now we are sharing those audio stories in the form of an installation, with a curated selection of stories told in a variety of languages being presented in small teepee-style tents. The aim is to create a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere with just a pair of headphones, lights, and some comfy cushions to allow children to focus on the story they are hearing and the one they are imagining in their minds. It is suitable for both school groups, particularly special needs units, as well as families.

This installation was originally presented at Riverbank Arts Centre in September 2023 and will be presented again in October 2024 at Roscommon Arts Centre. It is enriched by workshops and ‘listening parties’, encouraging young people to respond creatively to the stories.

This installation is available for galleries, foyers or other public spaces. Available languages include English, Irish, Polish, Romanian, Arabic and Portuguese.
